I had had some issues with clenching in the last few years after a neck injury and it was causing a lot of pain but it was also causing my teeth to shift. And so my two front teeth were getting kind of wacky and Dr. Lee, rather than just going straight to the pain component and saying, “All right, we can alleviate the pain with a TMJ bite guard,” he said, “Okay, well, aesthetically, there’s also some changes we can make to kind of get your teeth back where they were.”

For me, it was a two-part treatment plan. And first, it was adjusting my bite, making sure I was biting correctly, fixing the aesthetic component, which is bothersome to me, and then moving to that second part, which is this TMJ guard, which is a different kind of treatment, but targeting the muscle imbalance, I think, that was created over the years. Or every visit to the office was efficient. So I would get in and out sometimes under 10 minutes. So I’ll come in, get a new tray, make sure that it fits, or sometimes we’d come in to do a fitting to see what the next tray needed to be. And that would be a process where they’ll scan your teeth using their high-tech device, which I have no idea how it does this. And they say, “Okay, come back in two weeks, come grab your next tray.” And I would be in and out in probably five minutes on those visits. They just make sure that it fit.

For me, the new trays fit every time. So the whole process was punctual, that always started on time, and I was always out very quickly. I would absolutely recommend anybody looking for an Invisalign provider to consider Smiles by Paul Lee. The level of detail and care that I received was top-notch. I was really walked through the whole process very clearly. There was an excellent level of communication the whole time. Never had any question about what was going on or when or what the timeline looked like. In fact, the timeline is very predictable and so they were really able to lay out, “This is what it’s going to look like over the next year.” So for me, it was a great experience and Dr. Lee did a great job.

This is a great atmosphere. Dr. Lee sets the bar in personal, professional, and every event of your life. So I actually prefer coming to Dr. Lee than a couple other appointments in my medical career, right? So a lot of people don’t like going to the dentist office. However, this is one of the joys of, you know, one of the highlights that I enjoy going through a medical procedure.

They create a family atmosphere, right? So whenever I come into the office, I know that I’m gonna be greeted fairly. I’m gonna be greeted on time. I’m gonna be greeted promptly. And actually, whenever my appointment’s set, they take me back as soon as I get here. So I try to get here a little bit earlier, but they create that atmosphere in which we’re all family. It’s been years since I’ve been coming to this practice. It’s been top-notch every single appointment, no matter what, no matter who’s behind the desk, no matter who’s, you know, taking care of me in the chair. It’s been top-notch. It’s been very consistent. So I would say very stellar customer service every single time. And it’s been very consistent every single time as well.

What I would say to someone who’s very new to the area, who’s really having some anxiety about going to the dentist, what I will say is that this particular dentist office, again, they are very welcoming, right? So they make sure that you’re a part of the family. And, you know, they make sure that you’re up to date on everything that needs to be done. So as far as procedures are concerned, they make sure that they do a thorough procedure, making sure that, “Hey, look, by the way, you may need X, Y, and Z.” And there’s no pressure, right? So it’s more of a summary of what you may need to have done. And they make a very good job of making sure they communicate. So communication is key, right, in any relationship. So I will say my relationship with Dr. Lee’s office is communication. “Hey, you’re gonna come to your appointment, you know, we’re expecting you. By the way, this is what you need to have done.” So that communication is very key for me, especially in my line of work with project management. And they are stellar with that as well.

Unfortunately, I experienced some severe side effects from a cancer drug I had to take. And my jaws and many of my back teeth had to be removed. I also lost some teeth because of the treatment that I had to take. It was a very dramatic loss and a very long-standing series of surgeries that was required. In the middle of the surgeries, I had to move to Houston from another area where I had three to four practitioners in place that I had been with for a long time, that knew me well, that had done all the work, and it was very involved. So when I came here, it was crucial. I have to go to a lot of events with my husband. We are all very frequently asked to go to these pretty formal affairs where you need teeth. And when I came to Dr. Lee, I had several pieces that were falling out. And one in particular, I had taken my own steps to keep it in with crazy glue. That is how bad it was.

So Dr. Lee had a mess on his hands with various pieces from various cities and practitioners that he then had to figure out how to complete this thing. And he did it and he did it excellently. He did it in coordination with another dentist actually in Maryland kind of in the lab that he uses. Anyway, he’s been amazing. Every step of the process has been very professionally done and with integrity. Everything from the insurance staff here, they make sure that they maximize the payments that my insurance company will pay. We have timed this entire thing so that I can maximize what they pay and then get the work done and continue to move through, sometimes waiting a year. But the smile may grow over.

I’ve been amazed at how quickly they do things. For instance, the downtime required with a temporary. I’ve got a temporary in my front teeth right now. I’ve got a temporary tooth in my two front teeth and you probably can’t tell which one it is. I can’t. You leave with a smile that you can function with while they’re doing the work. They get you back in as soon as possible so that you’ve got your next step ready and they never send you out with something that will not work for you. I have never gone out of this office that I had to cringe and stay home in isolation worrying about somebody asking me to open my mouth. They just make…they make accommodations for everything you need.

What sets this place apart as a care provider is the level of attentiveness of each of the staff members. So everybody’s always checking in on you, always making sure you have what you need. And probably my favorite part is that Dr. Lee is as much of a perfectionist as I am. And so we would go back in and do multiple modifications and he didn’t really stop until everything was exactly where it needed to be. The quality of care here is really superior to any other dental practice that I’ve been to. I’ve actually managed to establish relationships with different staff members that are friendly in nature and so they’ve kind of bridged the gap between a doctor and patient in a really cool way.

I take my teeth very seriously. I always have since I was a little girl and I don’t trust anybody to go work in my mouth. And so having that good personable relationship with a dental practitioner is very important to me. I actually met with a few different offices before I chose to come here and what I would say is when you come here, Dr. Lee will kind of identify your problem, really hone in on what needs to get done, and then he kind of lays the groundwork for where you’re going to go. And I’ve been working with him for a little over a year now. I came in with a TMJ issue and he was able to say, “These are the two things we need to do to alleviate some of the issues that you’re dealing with.” And we’ve stayed on track through that process and it’s been pretty seamless.

I love coming to this practice, particularly to Dr. Lee. There’s not one reason, there’s many reasons. The staff, they’re like family, honestly. We catch up, they remember details about me. First of all, excellent. Dental care is the first and primary reason because I needed it. Dr. Lee came, highly recommended. But once I got here, I’ve just really appreciated all from the hygienist to his assistants. They’re all stable and constant and they ask about family. We know each other’s stories. There’s just so many reasons why I love coming here. Can’t say enough.

The excellence with which he does everything, the resources he brings with his staff, first of all, they’re highly skilled. He pours into his staff, they’re all happy here because he creates a family environment for his staff. We get to experience the benefits of that because they come alongside and they’re friends. They’re friends and they’re excellent in what they do. He builds the staff up so that his assistants each have expertise in their own areas and he really respects them. They all show respect, and really, it’s not too far to say they show love for the people they care for. You feel loved here. My kids feel it. They love to come here. My husband comes here. He’s never come to a dentist like this. So it’s a family affair.

The quality of care that I have received at this dental practice, it is the best I have ever received. And I have been to the best in lots of different cities, but I’ve had several top dentists in the country, and including where he does his laboratory in Arizona. I have been there in person through another dentist and Dr. Lee uses that lab. He’s on the cutting edge of all dental procedures. And I think what I can say the most is my smile has been restored to one that I had as a kid when I had natural teeth. He made my smile presentable again.

I had braces for almost three years as an adult. So I was very attentive. That’s how I met Dr. Lee. I was sent over here by my ortho specialist. He said, “He’s a young doctor. He’ll be around a lot longer than I will, so you need to start seeing Dr. Lee.” I started coming to see Dr. Lee. He’s taking care of all my general dentistry needs.

Well, I’ve had a few crowns and things done to my teeth since then. Well, I’ve had some movement. And so there was one particular tooth that I saw that started shifting. And I pointed it out to Dr. Lee. Of course, he’s so nice. He said, your smile is so beautiful. And I just asked if he could do something, you know, about it to help. He said, yes, of course, this would be a great course of action, fast, easy. And then I can take care of it at home with the trays and things like that. So then that responsibility was put on me to obviously remember, you know, to use the trays and whatnot. The experience has been pretty easy. I mean, generally, it’s the same as when I would wear a retainer, which I used to wear all the time. And when you drink anything aside from water, you take it out, you have a little tray that you put it in. You definitely don’t wanna do the napkin thing because that’s how they disappear. And so it’s been really easy.

And then anytime in between, lunch, snack or whatever, it’s the same thing. You have the container. So that’s the thing that it’s really important is to have that container to put your trays in and then to remember to put them in afterwards. It’s actually upped my game in flossing and brushing. So that’s been a bonus. Anytime I forget anything or what I’m supposed to do, I call the office and one of them helped me. So it’s been pretty easy. I think coming here because Dr. Lee, you know, has been doing it for so long that it just makes it easy, and again the staff is great and Dr. Lee is great, so it just makes the whole process that much easier.
